What are prebiotic fibres?

Prebiotic fibres are specific types of fibre that feed the beneficial bacteria living in your gut, helping them grow stronger to produce important molecules called short chain fatty acids. These molecules play a crucial role in digestion, immunity, and even mood. And It might sound weird, but your gut is home to trillions of bacteria that play a role in these functions 24 hours a day.

Think of it this way: while probiotics add beneficial bacteria, prebiotics are the fuel that keep them alive and thriving.

The problem? Most modern diets lack meaningful amounts of prebiotic fibre, which is why prebiotic fibre supplementation can make such a big difference.

And no, you don’t have to take probiotics for prebiotics to have an effect. There is an abundance of bacteria already in your gut waiting for prebiotic loving!

How quickly will I notice the effects?

Consistency is key here as prebiotic fibres take some time to have their full effect. In about 2 weeks you may notice improvements in digestion and energy, by week 4 you might experience less bloating and even smoother digestion. By weeks 8-12 the prebiotic effect will start becoming more obvious where you may be less fatigued during the day, your skin may clear and you may have a more stable appetite.

How do I take GUTLETE Prebiotics?

GUTLETE’s Prebiotic Blend is completely unflavoured and can be added to any food or beverage that you choose, hot or cold! My absolute favourite is to add it to my morning coffee.

I love a good routine so it feels like I set my day up for success when I have my prebiotic coffee.

When should I take GUTLETE Prebiotics?

There is no ‘hard rule’ for when to take GUTLETE’s Prebiotic Blend but what is important is that you take it daily. If you usually take it in the morning but then forget one day, that’s fine, just have it in the evening (perhaps in your evening tea?!)

Does the Prebiotic Blend contain sugar or sweeteners?

One of the fibres in the GUTLETE blend - galactooligosaccharides (I know, what a name..) has natural, fibre-derived sugar in it (straight up glucose molecules!). But, we source from a high quality manufacturer meaning the amount of sugar is minimized while the fibre benefit is maximized. This results in less than 1 gram of natural sugar per serving.

And absolutely zero artificial sweeteners.

How many calories are in the Prebiotic Blend?
